CERP
Conféderation Européenne des Relations Publiques - the European Public Relations Confederation, is the umbrella organisation of national and professional PR associations all over Europe. It was founded in 1959 by practitioners from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. Its initiator was the famous Lucien Matrat, author of the Code of Athens. Since this time the world has changed dramatically. Colleagues in many central and eastern European countries have founded PR associations that today belong to CERP - forming a European network of professional contacts.
Thomas Achelis was a board member of CERP since 1989, and CERP president between 1995 and 1998 and between 2000 and 2006.

IPRA
The International Public Relations Association, is the world’s premier association for communications professionals. IPRA is an international network of public relations pioneers from nearly one hundred countries and offers a unique opportunity to network with 1,000 top-level professionals in the evolving field of business and social communications. IPRA has more than 50 years of experience in sharing and promoting professional development.

CIPR
With over 9,500 members involved in all aspects of communications, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations is at the heart of the public relations profession and is the largest public relations organisation in Europe. In 2005, the Institute was awarded a Royal Charter, in recognition of its role in the professionalisation of public relations and as a founding member of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management. CIPR has a clear vision for the Institute and the public relations profession and a mission that captures its commitment to the profession.

DPRG
The German Public Relations Society is the largest professional association of communication managers and PR practitioners in Germany. DPRG represents the professional interests of their members, commit them to act in a professional way and fosters the image of public relations. Members are decision makers in the field of PR and communication, staff members in PR departments and press officers in business companies, public authorities, associations, institutions, churches and agencies as well as members in education and universities.
